Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center: A Helping Hand UP

For decades, the Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center (TSSC) has provided food, clothing, hot meals and outreach services to local families, seniors, veterans and individuals in crisis. Its mission is to strengthen the community by offering a helping hand UP to neighbors in need.

In 2025 alone, TSSC distributed approximately 1.75 million pounds of food, served more than 71,000 hot meals and delivered over 1,400 food boxes to homebound neighbors.

Behind these numbers are real people — seniors stretching fixed incomes, families facing unexpected expenses, homebound neighbors needing groceries and veterans seeking a warm meal and support.

This Giving Tuesday, December 1, the Shepherd Center invites the community to make a difference. Through a special matching opportunity, every dollar donated will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $22,000, doubling the impact of each gift.
