Local Medical Hypnotherapist Patricia V. Scott (Patti) has been voted in as President of the Hypnosis Education Association (HEA), a not-for-profit Florida corporation dedicated to educating people on the benefits of hypnosis. Scott brings over thirty years of experience to this position and has distinguished herself in the field of Medical Hypnotherapy by creating the first specialty certification program approved through the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association. In addition to offering private sessions, Scott’s company, UP Hypnosis Institute, is approved through several international organizations offering Hypnosis, Medical Hypnotherapy, and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) training and certification, and classes for the general public.

 

Prior to becoming certified in hypnotherapy, Scott had an impressive 20 year career as a professional singer, actor, dancer and published songwriter. During those years, she studied and implemented the very techniques that would ultimately lead to her next calling. After suffering a severe back injury at age 19 from which doctors said she would never recover, Scott used self-hypnosis to heal herself and went on to prove them wrong. Dancing was not supposed to be in her future, much less professional dancing! So, Scott walks the walk and talks the talk, and her passion is teaching others the techniques that changed her life.
