Heart Cultivation and Qigong Yield Tangible Results

Oct 04, 2011 08:04PM ● By Robbie Miles

Emei Qigong promotes the concept of heart cultivation along with its many Zen (Chan) style qigong methods. Heart cultivation means to approach all aspects of one’s life with compassion and kindness. Applying the concept of heart cultivation begins by accepting oneself as one is, accepting others as they are, and leading by example. Our fast-paced lives require us to move quickly, make decisions quickly, and change our attention quickly. Using a heart-centered approach allows us to make these quick changes from a foundation of kindness so that we serve all parties involved in the best manner possible.

Wuji Gong, Emei Qigong’s moving Qigong form, is a gentle, effective form of energy exercise that leaves you feeling refreshed and revitalized, not worn out and fatigued. One participant has been able to reverse many of the serious health effects of a decades old chronic disease. Another participant was able to use Emei Qigong to supplement his recovery from a heart attack and has returned to training and participating in triathlons while also reducing prescription medications levels with his doctor’s approval.

Wuji Gong was designed by Grand Master Fu Wei Zhong, 13th Lineage Holder of Emei Qigong, to be easy, effective and return the body to a state of balance and oneness with the universe. It can be done standing or sitting. Accommodations are easily made for various physical limitations, yet it promotes a higher state of physical, emotional and energetic well-being. Wuji Gong is like getting a “tune-up” for your energy system; you feel more energetic, more calm, more centered, your engine is running smoother and you feel prepared to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

We are constantly receiving information about the importance of exercise and good eating habits, yet we have skyrocketing rates of obesity and disease. Many people use food and beverages as means to change their emotional states. We learn in Emei Qigong that improper eating habits are just one of the many causes of human illness. Emei Qigong teaches Wuji Gong, meditation, healing sounds, and many other methods to rid ourselves of toxic emotions so we can handle the stresses of life in a balanced manner.

The Healing Arts of Emei Qigong is the foundation seminar to introduce and teach some of the most valuable methods of this 800-year old Qigong system from China. For hundreds of years, its methods were not available to the public. Grand Master Fu was tasked with taking this knowledge out to benefit the world at large and has trained over 2 million people in the many benefits of Emei Qigong’s various methods. Emei Qigong is a practice that can enable us to reach our full potential with great results. Robbie Miles has been practicing Emei Qigong since 2007 and is a Certified Emei Qigong Teacher.

The Healing Arts of Emei Qigong Seminar will be held on two weekends in October, Sat.-Sun., Oct. 15-16, and Sat.-Sun., Oct. 22-23, at the Egypt Shriners Conference Room, 4050 Dana Shores Dr., Tampa 33634, just south of A La Carte Pavilion. Benefits of Qigong Practice

Increased lung capacity and decreased stress levels.

Stress manifests in our bodies in the form of high blood pressure, headaches, or muscle tension. Learning proper breathing can help restore healthy levels.

 Improved Posture

If we have an injury or are under stress, our bodies develop compensatory patterns which may, over time, manifest as injury or disease. Qigong practice aligns the body, reinforcing natural wellness.

 Enhanced Balance and Coordination

Good physical balance and leg strength prevent falls, which becomes increasingly important as we age. Emotional balance can help strengthen our response to the modern juggling act that is our modern life. We strive to do the best for our families, our jobs, our communities and ourselves. Qigong strengthens both our physical and emotional well-being.

 Vital Physical Conditions Positively Influenced

The specific movements and visualizations in the Emei Qigong methods can positively influence vital physical conditions such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, headache, insomnia, arthritis, and longevity.
