Natural Awakenings Tampa Florida

Letter From the Publisher

With cooler-than-usual weather the first two months this year, the few winter duds I own got a great workout. While the first weeks of March usually maintain a cool nip, I relish the knowledge that warming temperatures are bound to return by month’s end. Spring Equinox comes again on March 20, and our body clocks will adapt, relaxing into increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the sweet return of buds, birds and bees.

I’m pleased to report that our Bay Area Natural Awakenings has joined more than 80 other NA publishers around the country in launching

NaturalAwakeningsSingles.com. To kick off the excitement, members have immediate access to the 60,000 members already active in the Conscious Dating Network. As publisher of this magazine my focus is on spreading news of our Bay Area membership. (There are so many loving, caring spirits in our community!)

Whether single, divorced or somewhere in transition, nurturing, loving relationship seekers of all kinds are connecting at NaturalAwakeningsSingles.com. It’s a growing membership with truly exciting potential. The flow of positive love vibrations in Southwest Florida is rising!

On Saturday, March 2, Slow Food Tampa Bay welcomes Pam Brandon, Katie Farmland and Heather McPherson, authors of Field to Feast: Recipes Celebrating Florida Farmers, Chefs and Artisans to the Bay Area. The appearance will be at Gateway Organic Farm in Clearwater and offers a book signing and discussion, access to exciting learning opportunities and a special box lunch featuring farm-fresh recipes from the book. Director Chef Michael Lynch of the Art Institute of Tampa and his Cook’s Club will prepare the lunch. (Learn more at slowfoodtampabay.org.)

The month of March brings hopeful reasons for celebration, including St. Patrick’s Day (the 17th) and Easter Sunday (this year on March 31st). Daylight savings time kicks in again on the 10th (set the clock ahead; lose an hour of sleep in the morning). At first my body "clock" tends to resist the loss of that hour, but I soon relax into the longer evenings the change offers. And so it goes. As always, open your mind and read on.
